The Rotary Club of Las Cruces
will not meet on December 14, 2016.
We will instead have a holiday party
on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at 6 p.m.
The Rotary Club of Las Cruces meets almost every Wednesday at noon (check the calendar for the occasional holiday exception), but come a little earlier as lunch will be ready around 11:30. Please join us! We meet at historic La Posta de Mesilla, 2410 Calle de San Albino in the town of Mesilla. (see map below)
We are the singing Rotary club. Music is always part of our meetings, so please bring your voice.
As a club and as individual Rotarians, we are involved in many worthwhile causes in the local community. Some of our ongoing community projects include: Taste of Las Cruces, high school senior scholarship program, the Great Day of Service, and Don’t Meth With Us. (Right: students at Picacho Middle School at a 2014 Don't Meth With Us! presentation).
The Rotary Club of Las Cruces supports the work of the Rotary Foundation throughout the world. Our club actively participates in Rotary's End Polio Now project and has contributed over four hundred thousand dollars to the Rotary Foundation's annual programs fund, honoring over 300 Paul Harris Fellows. A few of our club-sponsored projects have included the establishment of an eye clinic in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico; equipping a school in Kinkizi, Uganda; and acquiring a van for a Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, support group for children and other individuals with Down's Syndrome. We have assisted a potable water project in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, Mexico, and another in Caracol, Guatemala.
Our club was founded in 1923, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Alamogordo and the Rotary Club of El Paso. We sponsored the Truth or Consequences Rotary Club in 1935, the Anthony Rotary Club in 1974, the Rotary Club of Las Cruces-Rio Grande in 1975, and the Rotary Club of Las Cruces-Mesilla Valley in 1993.
