President Lya rang the bell about 10 minutes past noon.  She invited Mary Ellen to give the invocation.  Mary Ellen’s invocation was based on Mother Teresa’s inspiring address to the United Nations about “service above self” and helping those in need.  President Lya then led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.  As this is “baseball season,” Greg Fant led us in a lively rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” with “Aggies” in place of “the home team!”

As it was the last day of February’s World Understanding Month, Kristi Granados shared the lyrics of "Say Something," by Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton, a song expressing our desires to express ourselves.  President Lya Jordan led the Pledge of Allegiance and we all sang "Don’t Fence Me In," another classic song.  Jim Maxon encouraged Mark Santiago to help him lead in song in anticipation of Cowboy Days at the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum.

Today’s invocation was read by Kristi Granados from the lyrics of a song by MXPX entitled “Invitation to Understanding” in honor of this month’s theme of World Understanding.  President Lya Jordan led the Pledge of Allegiance and we all sang “You’re a Grand Ole Flag” (led by Jim Maxon).

At 12:11 p.m. Fran ‘Beloved’ Boldt ended her pre-meeting piano playing with You’re Breaking My Heart by Vic Damone when President Lya ‘Lovely’ Jordan hit the bell.  Kristi Granados led the invocation with a prayer for peace in this Rotary World Understanding Month.  "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" was led by our own Sweetheart, Jim Maxon.

President Lya called the meeting to order sometime around 12:10 pm at La Posta Restaurant.  Kristi Granados offered a Buddhist prayer for peace as the invocation and Lya Jordan lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.  Then we all sang When The Saints Go Marching In, led by our own Jim Maxon.  Lya read the list of all Birthdays, Wedding Anniversaries, and Club Anniversaries.  My goodness, there are some oldies but goodies in the group!

2018-01-31: Club Assembly

President Lya Jordan opened the meeting at 12:09 PM. John Pickett had triple duty; opening prayer, leading the singing of the Star Spangled Banner (last verse) and leading the song “Happiness is”, an original by Fran Boldt. “Meet and greet” time was skipped, however our many visitors were introduced. Richelle got the happy dollars going by celebrating her almost 2 year anniversary when she introduced her husband Marty. Jay was happy for Richelle & Marty. Patty gave happy dollars for the honorees as well as the” impressiveness” of the club.
