2018-06-27, Club Assembly, Year End & Induction of Officers

President Lya Jordan called the meeting to order at 12:08 p.m., Jim Parks lead the invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Guests as well as our visiting Rotarian, Susan Hychka were introduced. John Pickett got the Happy $ flowing in honor of Mexico being happy that Korea beat Germany which resulted in Mexico staying in the World Cup. Greg Fant was happy for Caroline covering Spokes & Cogs the last two weeks as well as seeing his grandkids. Larry Candelaria was happy that his wife kept her promise and joined him today for the meeting.

2018-06-20, Lya and Jay Jordan, the Seychelles

President Lya returned from her vacation to the Seychelles. President Lya called the meeting to order at 12:09 pm. Lyn Ames lead the invocation and President Lya led the Pledge of Allegiance. Sue Groth along with Fran Kemp and Blaine Goss led us in singing “The Yellow Rose of Texas.” Visiting Rotarian Susan Hychka, from Lafayette, Indiana, was introduced and a meet and greet ensued.

2018-06-13, Club Assembly, 2018-19 Board and Committee Structure

Past President Ana Mangino filled in for President Lya Jordan. President Lya was off celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary with husband Jay Jordan. Past President Ana called the meeting to order at 12:09 pm. Jim Parks led the invocation and Past President Ana led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. In a joint effort Sue Groth, Fran Kemp and Blaine Goss led us through the 1936 version of Home on the Range. Guests Mark Mesh and Trina Davis were introduced and a meet and greet ensued. 

2018-06-06, COL Eric Rannow, White Sands Test Center

With President Lya Jordan off celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary, Past President Bill Harty called the meeting to order at 12:19 pm. Lyn Ames led the invocation.

2018-05-30, Toys for Tots

The meeting was opened at 12:15 by Past President Christopher Dulany, acting in place of Lya Jordan who is on vacation.  The invocation was given by Sherry Franzoy and the Pledge was given by the whole club.  The two Frans (Boldt and Kemp) led the singing of “America” and “America the Beautiful.” 

2018-05-23, Davidson Scholarship Presentations

Past President Bill Harty opened the meeting at 12:15.  He was acting in the place of Lya Jordan who is on vacation.  Sherry Franzoy gave the invocation.  The Pledge was recited.  Patty Groth and Fran Boldt led the song “Hey Good Lookin’”.  The group greeted each other during the Meet and Greet.

Sue Groth asked that Christopher Dulany pay a fine for having his picture in the SUN NEWS being recognized as one of three southern New Mexicans for the Albuquerque Business First 40 Under Forty program.

2018-05-16, Wil Kilroy, NMSU Theater Arts

Past President Lyn Ames opened the meeting in the absence of President Lya Jordan who is on vacation.  Sherry Franzoy provided the invocation including a prayer for the family of Blaine Goss on the loss of daughter Melissa.  The Pledge was recited.  Earl Phillips led the singing of “God Bless America”.  The club participated in a Meet and Greet. 

2018-05-09, Ryan Parks, A Visit to China

Past President Mary Ellen McKay opened the meeting at 12:10.  President Lya Jordan is traveling to the Seychelles.  The invocation was given by Sherry Franzoy.  The Pledge was recited.  Blaine Goss led the singing of  “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad” in honor of those who are working.  (Blaine smiled as he said that because he is retired!)  Mary Ellen told

2018-05-02, Kathy Rodolph, NM State Softball

Lya Jordan, president, called the meeting to order at 12:06.  Sherry Franzoy provided the invocation.  Blaine Goss led the singing of  “Down by the Old Mill Stream” which he chose because it was a song “older than us" (1908) .  The Pledge was given.

2018-04-25, Club Assembly

President Lya rang the bell about 13 minutes past noon.  Mary Ellen’s invocation reminded us of the great value of friendships.  President Lya then led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Patty played the piano and Fran led us in singing the “Ballad of Jed Clampett.”  The entire group had a lot of fun with that.  President Lya introduced all of the guests including our two high school student guests and their families.  All were invited to “meet and greet!”  The mystery greeter was Charles Townley who was hiding in the back of the room.
