Taste of Las Cruces 2012
Taste of Las Cruces is an annual event conducted by the Rotary Club of Las Cruces and the other two Las Cruces Rotary Clubs to raise funds to meet community needs. Taste of Las Cruces offers attendees a chance to sample the wares of a number of local restauranteurs in one location, while contributing to local causes. To add to the fun, a silent auction is conducted and there is live music.
The 2012 event at the Las Cruces Convention Center on Thursday, June 7, 2012, was emceed by Las Cruces Symphony conductor (and Rotarian) Lonnie Klein. Net proceeds of $15,375.50 from this year's event were presented to El Caldito Soup Kitchen on July 18. (Pictured at the Rotary Conference Room at the Mesilla Valley Hospice are Ross Ramsey, Las Cruces Rotary past president; Henry Broekhoff, event chair; Gabe Anaya, El Caldito vice president; Ruth Anderson, El Caldito secretary; Elaine McKinney, Mesilla Valley Rotary past president; and Sharon DeBraal, Rio Grande Rotary past president.)
